It is dim and cool under the trees, patterns of sunlight making it through here and there, but mostly not.
There are few people underway, all elderly.
Walk without a camera today, for the bag is damaged, and carrying the camera on the strap around the neck is silly, like some tourist.
The path is not steep at the beginning, but it then gets steeper. After about two kilometres, there is the top, an open field and a park bench in the early sun, dry already. The benches in the shade are still glistening wet from the rain in the night.
Listen to the many birds singing, each with it's own call.
Watch the first people arrive on their walks, a young family with two very young children.
Rest on the bench for an hour.
e an old man.
Before taking the steep path down through the forest,
step through the gate at the bottom of the path, out onto the brick stairway.
