fallen

A strange day, a warm Saturday, left the house at shortly past ten with the son and walked to the small bakery café.

Had a pleasant time with him, or her, this seems not entirely clear. Walked down to the shops together, with no clear idea of what there would be to buy. Inside the shop decide to buy nothing and return home. On the way pass all the stands of the various political parties, with a short detour to those ones that he particularly favours.

Go to the meeting of the gallery owners, they are all political as well.

At home, check up on the pictures on the computer. Then notice that the computer is issuing a warning that it is going to sleep soon unless connected to the mains power supply. Look around for said power supply and see that it is nowhere around. It is probably in the studio.

Well, there is no help for it.

Walk to the studio on this warm spring day. On the way pass the stands of all those who want to be lord mayor.

At the studio, there is a group hanging about the pub. It is closed, but these are the landlords close friends. The landlords girlfriend catches the eye of this old man and leaves him spellbound. This should not happen to seventy year olds. It is embarrassing. Collect the power supply, try to avoid eye contact. Really- heart fluttering at an advanced age.

If it was not so pleasant it would be a cause for shame.

If the hearts owner was younger, he would make a fool of himself for the intimate catching of an eye, and suffer in the pursuit. As it is, just walk home and have pleasant dreams by the way

Eat the fruit

The cat, that cat, the family cat is hungry, it is seven in the morning, and as far as the small fat animal is concerned it now needs to make a fuss to force the nearest human to feed her.

Feed the cat a few spoonfuls, and the cat shuts up. Go back to bed, there is nothing special that needs to be done now.

The cat is of a different mind, at more or less eight in the morning she commences making noises again. She gets her food, and since there is no help for it make coffee and toast and poached eggs. Read the news, and understand only too well that the United States of America are busy warmongering again. Do all nations greater than a certain size do this? Or are all large nations led by the hopelessly power mad?

Never mind, eat the breakfast and look at the other news. It is not much better.

Hear the wife leave the house. The trapdoor to the cellar is loose and very noisy when walked upon.

Go to the cafe, and have a small piece of cake and a cup of coffee.

Then take a walk through town to the studio. Set up the laptop there and chat with the owner of the neighbouring pub. After about an hour take a walk through town. Go to the railway station and watch the trains for a while. It would, after all, be possible to just board one and go somewhere interesting. This will not work though, the train ticket is on the mobile phone.

Return to the studio, do a few more bits and pieces, and then go home.

The cat is in the passageway, making noises. Ignore her for the time being.

There is the noise of the wife returning, and the cat is no longer to be heard. She has found another human to feed her.

Cut open an avocado pear, and remove the seed. Eat the fruit. It is very good.

As it starts to get dark outside, walk to the artist's studio, and spend time writing these notes.

death in the extended family

Yesterday evening paid a short visit to the other grocery store after having checked in to the artists studio.

Bought a package of ten eggs' bottle of mouth wash, and three small containers of cat food..

Work at the studio until midnight, with the artist being able to check the composition of the pictures on an extra larger monitor.

At home download the pictures onto the laptop and look. They seem to be in order.

Set the alarm for eight in the morning and go to sleep after shaving and cleaning the teeth very carefully.

In the morning get up and get dressed. Leave for the dentists appointment without taking any breakfast. The dentist is all very friendly, and they work hard to repair the filling in the tooth. The filling dropped out some time ago and was forgotten about. Now it has been replaced with a better and more expensive one.

At home again, see to the photographs taken yesterday. Make a few prints. A parcel arrives with the book that had been put together containing all the pictures of the little sculptures. It arrived much earlier than expected, it had been planned for the fourth of March. There is no harm in an early arrival.

Then there is a telephone call. The mother-in-las telephones, she rings on the land line. The land line is normally only used by the wife. The mother in law informs of the death of the father in law two months ago. Try to make belated condolences, all the while wondering why whether the wife nor the son had spoken a word about this. The estrangement in the family reaches new depths. The conversation with the mother in law is long, she talks about her husbands suffering and also of her own. She speaks a lot of her own suffering.

Think about the phone call whilst making further correction to the colours of those pictures taken yesterday.

Then pack up the pictures and the new brochures and go to the studio.

It is dark now, it is almost half past seven in the evening.

no eggs

Despite yesterdays late bedtime it was possible to get up early today. Took a shower first thing and then made a small breakfast. The cat was upstairs, probably perfectly happy with the wife's canopening services.

Most probably fast asleep.

The son comes down to say goodbye. He has to return to Bayreuth to get on with his studies.

Go to the clothes shop, but cannot find any jeans in the correct size..

Return, and wait.

Go to the café and have a midday meal with the old tenant, the bookkeeper. She is doing well.

Then goto the supermarket to get eggs

There are no eggs to be had.

tension

An early awakening and arising was the only option left for the human. The cat kept up a permanent intermittent noise indicating a wish for food or for attention, maybe even both, Give her both, and she shuts up for a while.

Send the prints to the printer, as planned.

Get dressed, as always. Fresh socks and fresh underpants, and a fresh tee shirt as well come out of their various storage places. By that time coffee is made and breakfast is almost ready. The prints are still printing, there are twelve of them, each about twenty by twenty-five centimetres, or eight by ten inches. Which ever method of measurement you prefer, you can take it. The inches are to be seen as Imperial inches, as would suit all anglo - Saxon protestants. Why waste proper nouns and capital letters unnecessarily?

After the beds made, the cat is fed again and again, the prints are cut, and the dishes washed away go to the shops.

Whilst there buy a bottle of wine. Forget to buy eggs and cat food. That is all for tomorrow now.

Return, write a note to the artist on that miserable WhatsAp system, hoping that he will find the time to reply.

Take a nap on the bed, this works until the cat decides that it would care for some more food.

Find that the artist has replied, and agreed to the layout of the cover of the book. Send the book on to the printing firm, the worries over the uploading of the document on account of its size turn out to be unfounded.

The bill arrives, the bill is paid, and a notice arrives that work has commenced.

"We live in fast times"

Use the car to bring the monitor to the studio. Whilst there effect a temporary repair on the pump of the artists fish tank using a spare hair rubber donated by the sister of the pubs owner. He and his father and his sister are having a discussion on the premises.

Upon leaving, notice that a quantity of wood has been left out in the rain. It is the same wood as that used by the artist, it may be assumed that it is his. It may be assumed that the landlord has removed it from the storage space in a fit of some rage. He had permitted the landlord to keep the wood there. There are strange tensions here and these are all other people's business.

Drive home.

Make a very simple evening meal.

Hear things go "bump" in the passageway.

Look out and see that the wife has dragged the rubbish bin in from the place where it had been left in front of the door.

Say hello, she does not say a word and continues to stump up the stairs.

It is not just the artist who has tension in his environment.

murky

The alarm on the mobile 'phone sounded, and got up in time to take the dentist's appointment. It is not far to the dentist, s five minutes walk. Pass the smart café with people there ostentatiously reading newspapers and holding serious conversations. All the people there are very well dressed indeed.

Upstairs in the practice, feel that things have changed. It is an atmospheric change. The daughter of the founder has slowly taken over. Perhaps it will be impossible to go here in future, there is the impression that things will get expensive.

This impression is confirmed as soon as the extra costs for a filling are mentioned by the young Frau Doktor,

After this is over, take the car to the building suppliers and buy some sandpaper for the sanding machine. Sandpaper is wildly expensive now. Take the paper and the machine to the artist's studio and leave it there. Have a short conversation with the saxophone player and then leave.

Take the car back and find that there are no parking spots available any more. Take a circuit and find one elsewhere. It is now almost three hours since the dentist. Go to the small café and have a cup of coffee.

In the afternoon the son comes down, and we go to the café again.

Later, make a test on the printer and discover why the dark tones in the prints came up so murky.

Sunday, 22 February 2026

remains to be seen

This morning early returned the artist to the house in which he has his home, leaving the car parked in front of the door and him thanking me for having driven him home. The walk to the flat in the shop was no problem at all, it is maybe two hundred and fifty metres. The cat was there, her greeting a request for a snack of catfood. Read the news, and play the Wordle, all forgotten in Fridays oblivion.

This morning the cat was complaining, begging for more small snacks. Get up, serve the cat and make coffee and toast. After altogether six hours of sleep do not feel in the slightest well. Read the news, read about the fifteen per cent tariffs on everything. The man must be stupid.

Read about people abusing their right to privacy to abuse others, those others all somewhere between being unable to defend themselves and having no tenable option to do so. The world is not a good place, and there is no clear analysis of the problems available.

Go back to bed, and stay there until midday. The cat is now making a fuss again. Go upstairs and have a shower, the cat follows. She is unable to open tins, so it is good to stay in the neighbourhood of her two legged tin opener.

Downstairs, settle down to write these notes.

Leave the cat upstairs.

The plan for the day is to paint the wooden pedestal for the small sculptures in the artists studio. It is unclear whether or not the paint will hold, this remains to be seen.

Saturday, 21 February 2026

Where did the twentieth go to?

That is a good question.

Now it is the evening, no it is the night of the twenty - dirst.. A day spent doing things done every other day.Just in a different order.

The cat comes in, she wants company. Then she leaves again.

Spend the day printing pictures, in the end find a viable solution.. Pack up the pictures and go to the studio.

Atthe studio meet the you

ng women from last week.

Give her her pictures.

They are well recieved. The  day is worthwhile after all.

barn

Woke to the sound of the alarm, and got up, turned it off and went straight upstairs for a shower. That was at nine this morning. Made breakfast. The son had reported finding the cat during the night,
Started printing the pictures for the small presentation later on today. Ring up the artist at eleven, but he is not ready yet.
Keep on working, then it is half past one in the early afternoon. Then the artist arrives, we check through the pictures, then drive over to the studio. There are a few more things to collect .
Finally arrive at the venue punctually at three.
A snowstorm has started. Nothing serious, but unpleasant wet soggy snow falling down and making everything cold and wet.
An elderly woman arrives with a walking aid and starts to fumble for the keys. Her movements are slow. The one door does not work, there seems to be an extra latch on the inside preventing the heavy bolts from being drawn.

The other door may be opened though. They are both large barn doors, the building is an old warehouse that used to be used for storing the tithes taken from the farmers as taxes. Tithes were a tenth of the produce, passed directly on to the tax collector.
Inside, the building is large and barn-like.  The building is well renovated and is carefully kept.
Afterwards, there is a long discussion in a café in the town. Sit in the corner and listen to the artist and the old lady talk, they are discussing what can and can not be shown, The weather has made taking part in the conversation difficult, on the way through the town the head had become soaked with the cold soggy snow, and this had started to melt and was dripping past the collar of the jacket.
Just sat in the corner trying to warm up.
After three quarters of an hour in the loud cafe leave and return to the car. It is a nice venue, says the artist.

Return to the studio and establish that the connection between the camera and the computer works.
That is very pleasant.

cat missing

The day started late and now it has ended early. It started late because of the late night the night before. The artist had to be driven home, he had drunk too much and was not well. The night ended this morning.

The day was busy, a little bit of shopping and time consuming work trying to make the printer work reliably. In the end, discover that there is a regulator for the ink coverage hidden subtly in the menus.

In the evening, the son arrives, spend time chatting to him, then go to the artist's place. He has been given a pair of fish by the landlord of the pub next door. They are smoked.

Settle down to a short meal and have a discussion about the things that need to be done tomorrow.

Now it is half past one, and the son is all over the house looking for the cat.

Tuesday, 17 February 2026

night work tonight

Today, so nice and quiet, there was no reason to leave the house for the rain, so the house was not left. Heard the wife run down the stairs to the passageway and got up.

Made breakfast, and had some extra coffee. Adjusted the pictures taken last night, all of them worked out more or less well. They are just party pictures of slightly drunk younger people.

There are noises outside, one of the neighbours seems to be having trouble with his van. Watch him as he tries to connect a pipe with his compressor. It does not seem to connect easily or properly. Then he disapears behind his van. There is a loud hissing noise and the orange compressed air pipe flicks across the view, it has become disconnected.

Step outside, the man looks and asks whether or not there is a tyre gauge in the house. The tyre on his van is visibly flat. Tell him that there is one in the house somewhere. Take it out to him, and bring a cable drum as well. Hook up the mans small compressor to the mains current via that cable drum and hand over the small gauge with its attached piping . The compressor makes noise and the neighbour  inflates the tyre. Let the tank of the compressor fill up completely and tell him to take the gauge and the connectors with him on his journey home , just in case of need.

Spend the afternoon trying to make prints of the pictures from the night before. This does nor really work, there is something wrong with the combination of software, the  various profiles and the paper.

Keep on working until eight in the evening, that is now.

Then get ready to go to the studio.

Monday, 16 February 2026

packages

Last night was a relatively late night, setting up for more pictures of the wooden sculptures, and doing tasks to assist the artist with the work he is currently doing, that statue of Aurelia, the science fiction goddess.

The cat started its protests early this morning, so got up and gave it some food. It seemed satisfied, but that did not matter. It started to make noises again at nine, and this time made breakfast, and gave some more stuff to the cat.

Tiredness set in again about half an hour after taking the pills, that is what happens every now and again. Lay down again, just for a while.

An hour and a half later there is a noise of knocking from the shop door. Go out in pyjamas, there is the postman. He has a few packages in his hand. Take them, say thank you, and go inside and get dressed. The one package is for the son, and the other is the two tiny wood planes ordered from China,They really  very small.

After noon walk to the post office to collect the sons package. A notice of delivery had been received last week, and he had mailed an authorisation from Bayreuth to make it possible for the package to be collected on Monday. This is one of the smaller joys of bureaucracy. After leaving the package at home, go out to the Thai snack place and have a bowl of soup. This is pleasant, go to the hardware store and buy two bags of cat litter and take them home. Cats do not just eat, they do all those other things as well.

This evening there is due to be a party in the guesthouse next to the artists studio. There is no particular wish to go, the people are all very much younger, but perhaps it would be sensible go there and wish many happy returns of the day to the young man who is having his birthday.

But otherwise, enjoy a pleasant, quiet, and very restful day.

Sunday, 15 February 2026

all well if it ends well

The washing got done today, that was positive. The cat slept and ate and did little else. And now it is late. The method for setting up the desktop publication program to make a book at least somewhat automatically worked quite well, at least it is understood now.

But otherwise this Sunday has just been covered with a heavy grey depression, there is no idea why, not really. Entertainment comes from the radio, it is perfectly satisfactory.

This is a bad day to write these notes, the only reason that they are being written is the promise to write them every day.

Last night, just before midnight, there was almost a fight at the pub involving a drunk Afghan, a fancy leather cowboy hat, the owner of the pub and the bartendender. The Afghan was holding an incoherent lecture on honour and respect Upon leaving the pub the bartender noticed that the Afghan had pocketed the landlord's hat, and an argument ensued. The result was that the Afghan left feeling discriminated and the others present were shaken.

A fight in the pub because one man did not realise that he could not hold his drink would have sorely damaged the places reputation.

But everything went well..

rest again

The meeting at the gallery, a tirade on opinionated politics in an Italian restaurant, and why is it all boring. Walk to the shops, and buy the wrong cat food, it is the sloppy kind which is awkward to manoeuvre onto the cats plate.

Upon leaving the shop, the automatic tills have too many people at them, so a woman comes along and opens one manually. This is faster.

At home, there is stiffness, pain and tinnitus.

The cat makes noises in the passageway, it wants to enter. Open the door, the cat makes its "I am entering the room" sound, and walks in. She rubs her back against the human legs and then against a corner in the wall.

Give her some food, the sloppy kind. She eats it with enormous enthusiasm. That is interesting, perhaps it is just the change.

Now tiredness is back, and a sense of not really caring about anything.

It is five in the evening, the cat is on the couch, sleeping to the sound of jazz from Australia, from ABC radio.

It is time to take another rest.

Friday, 13 February 2026

Slow friday

Slept deeply, and woke up rather late, at nine. Yesterday evening was spent taking pictures of the wooden sculptures in the artist's studio. They are not entirely easy to take pictures of.

This morning, the cat called insistently until she was fed.

Spent the day finishing the pictures and making a few prints, Went to the shops to buy butter, and cat food.

In the evening realise that the cat food was forgotten, there are only two small containers left. That is too bad. Perhaps it will be possible to buy some tomorrow.

There is not much to account for today. It is half past six in the evening, It will be possible to take the prints to the studio and to make a few pictures of the locals. Then the day will have run.

Thursday, 12 February 2026

time for a break

now it is twenty to six

After a relaxed morning and early afternoon in the shop go to the artists studio. On the way through town meet the argentine. After a short conversation, proceed. He seems well, and his checkup yesterday showed nothing untoward.

At the studio discover that the landlord"s girlfriend has deposited those chairs foe which she has no use there. Clear them to one side and proceed to set up all the equipment. It is not entirely easy. In fact, it is not easy at all.

Bow is time for a break with a bottle of beer.

Wednesday, 11 February 2026

six in the evening

There were no collapses today, despite having to get up early to feed the cat. Lay down and took regular rests, but it was possible to do a bit of work and to keep on functioning well. The dizziness took a break today as well.

The early awakening meant that there was time to check the bins. By looking out of the window see that the neighbours all had their bins out on the street, today appears to be the day for the collection of the yellow bags (used packaging) and the bins containing general rubbish. Carry the bins out wearing slippers and a dressing gown, if any of the neighbours notice it will give them something to talk about.

The sound of the huge dump trucks makes the room reverberate as first the one for the yellow bags arrives, and then later the trucks for the general waste bins. The general waste bins is where the used cat litter goes.

Go shopping, walking through town is fun for a change. Return with the big bag of things, buy some better cheese today. The only eggs available are the best biological fancy free range eggs. Now we will see if they taste any better than the cheaper battery eggs.

Vacuum the floor in the flat, and then leave for the studio. On the way buy some black cardboard in what is now a general store, selling mainly cosmetics.

Arrive at the studio, pack away the cardboard and start searching for the storage card for the camera. It is not where it is expected to be, in fact it is missing.

Sit down and relax with a bottle of beer. Then search again, without success.

Return home and find another card, this one will have to do.

Hear the wife stamping around in the passageway, this goes on for a while and then she leaves the house. The cat calls at the door, let her in and give her a bite to eat.

No more than a little, yesterday was an example of what happens when the small greedy animal overeats.

Sit down and write these notes. It is now six in the evening

Tuesday, 10 February 2026

does not help

The day started well with good intentions. Fed the cat and it seemed most happy. Did a few small chores. and then settled down to solve the problem with the desktop publishinmg program.

This did not go well.

Fed the cat an extra treat.

The documents could not be formatted as expected. Nothing worked properly.

The cat went under a chair and vomited. Cleaned that up and put the cat out. Let it vomit elsewhere., if it so desires.

The whole day went on silly things, and looking at computers that did not work the way that had been hoped for.

It is now seven in the evening, and things are getting colder. The heating is no longer able to keep up with the water outside.

Well, read the instructions and try again. Working with a strange operating system does not help either.

Monday, 9 February 2026

14:02

The cat makes polite cat sounds in the morning, indicating her desire for cat food. It is seven in the morning, the nights sleep had several breaks and there is no enthusiasm to feed the animal at that time.

The cat is persistent, and therefore get up at seven, feed the animal, make coffee and solve the New York Times Wordle puzzle. Then lie down for a short while again. There are no eggs for breakfast today, that is just too bad.

Rest for half an hour, then take a shower. Arrange the files on the computer to be able to deal with sorting the remaining pictures of the small figures later on this afternoon

Then got up to go to the shops, and met up with the Brazilian woman outside the door. It was nice to talk to her , chatted for an hour. on the street and then in the small café. There were curious glances from the proprietors of the café, they know of the relevant marital situations and probably presumed that they were witness to some infidelity or other. People will always imagine the worst and the most salacious.

After the conversation go to the discount supermarket and buy a few things. Eggs are delivered on a Tuesday, and today is Monday.

On the return walk home feel dizzy and weak. Perhaps it is the sugar on the bun in the café, perhaps it is something else.

At home again, lie down for twenty minutes. Then get up, and write these notes

It is now two minutes past two

Sunday, 8 February 2026

old and forgetful

The confusion with all this working late in the evening is telling. Yesterday was spent working on the pictures, the evening in the sculptors studio. Today was spent just resting, a shocked brother telephoned and expressed surprise that his older brother was sleeping at midday.

Certainly , got up early today, but then felt unwell and lay down on the made bed covered by a blanket. Slept soundly until midday. That is a result of having been up until three in the morning.

Spent the day searching for things and reading.

The fact that one of these daily posts was simply lost in the last days is worrying, is this person getting old and forgetful?

yesterday ends today, ends with Aurelia

It has been a late day and a long day. Missed the meeting with the gallery people, slept until one. A telephone call from the son, he informed that the wife had locked herself out of the house. Go into the passageway and unlock the front door.

Get dressed, shave, it is so late in the day. Do a few small chores, clear the cat tray of  the cat's leavings. Then there is the wife hammering on the shop door. Let her in and explain that the front door is unlocked. She tries it and, see there, it is open. Empty the letterbox, there is a magazine and some advertising matter for the upcoming elections.

Spend the rest of the day editing the pictures. They are not satisfactory, something is rather wrong with them. Nevertheless, work on and make a few prints.

In the evening the artist calls, he is a nocturnal person. Go to the studio and clear up the corner in which the equipment is stored. This take a few hours. The other users of the studio have simply pushed things aside and used the small empty space as a store.

Afterwards, chat with the artist about how to do the second iteration of the pictures. Help him a little bit using the small planes to finish the surface on a figure.

It is still the figure of Aurelia.

Friday, 6 February 2026

spicy

The cat just went underneath the table, farted, and is now sitting on the floor looking back over  her shoulder with what may be a self satisfied expression. Was this deliberate? Is she angry because of not receiving food? Or was this just a chance occuruenc?

It is three in the afternoon, and it was a rude awakening this morning. The cat started making noises at seven, so got up and staggered into the kitchen and put food onto her plate. Went back to bed, back to sleep, only for the cat to start again half an hour later. After the third such performance put her out into the passageway.

Collected the son's parcel from the post office. It is small package from China, it arrived early.

Will spend the evening at the artist's studio. The last photo was a success, now more will have to be made.

But first make a small meal of boiled potatoes and something spicy.

Thursday, 5 February 2026

reaponsibility

The cat demands attention early, she is vociferous, demanding food and attention. It is eight in the morning, bedtime was at three. Well, never mind, give the cat her spoonful of food, and a few drops of milk.

The cat seems happy.

Make coffee and poached eggs on toast. i'm Look at the news. Establish that there is just no way that the United States of America will ever be visited. It is turning into a fascist state. Italy has had that once already. Humble opinions, but civilization looks different.

The cat gets some milk, this quietens her down.

During the day, go to the store and return  the shirt that had lost a button. The people are all very polite about it. Spend the afternoon in the studio, preparing for the next pictures.

There is no wish to return home.

The cat will recieve its food later tonight.

Wednesday, 4 February 2026

So much for breakfast

Not feeling well after breakfast is turning into something to consult the doctor about. This happened again today. It became necessary to stay in bed until midday, it was the cat's hunger that forced the day to start. Spent the day trying to edit yesterdays pictures, but it was just not so simple.

At the breakfast the cat called from the passageway. Apparently the wife had not let her in to the top flat last night. The cat is most attentive this morning, she must have spent a cold and uncomfortable night in the freezing passageways of the big house.

In the middle of the afternoon take the biodegradable rubbish away to the brown bins at the end of the street. The biodegradable stuff is mostly coffee and egg shells anyway. There are two buckets full of it. So much for breakfast.

The cat is extraordinarily affectionate for the rest of the afternoon.

Finally manage to make a decent print from the original files.

All is well that ends well.

But it really was a terribly lazy day

Tuesday, 3 February 2026

twelve pincers

Yesterdays fury has abated. Bought some cheap clamps at the building suppliers and an electric light bulb. The light bulb is a LED bulb and is very bright. It will do well for the work room in the shop, which is just too dim.

Buy 12 small woodworking pincers.

Go he and then go to the artists stidio.

Spend the whole afternoon setting things up, then take a few pictures. The results may be seen later.Eat a Turkish fast food kebab in the afternoon. That is all.

The pincers do a great job holding pieces of card to act as light guides. Much better than gaffer tape.

Monday, 2 February 2026

to lie down and to waste time

Monday is a day that is not worth talking about too much. The cat makes noises early in the morning, she wants food. Feed her some, and it does not take long before she wants some more of the same.

It is cold outside, but this does not matter.

In the late morning there is a telephone call from a dear friend in London. She is living in a care home there now. She seems in good spirits, which is good. Have a lovely long conversation with her.

It is still cold outside, the cat wants to be fed again. Cats have a very high-speed metabolism.

Go to the shops to get something to eat. There is no great wish to buy anything, the facilities for complex cooking are simply not available. There is no wish to spend the time for this sort of thing on a single person anyway. But there is no wish for ready-made meals either. These are either nasty or expensive.

Today is also a day where everybody seems to get in the way of everybody else. It is not just those consulting their mobile 'phones whilst walking, everybody seems to be anticipating everyone else's trajectory with less than the usual precision.

Have a roll with meat loaf at the butchers store. It is slightly tasty, and it is warm.

Return home to feed the complaining cat.

There is a sound of the front door opening and closing, the wife has returned from wherever she was over the weekend. After a short while the cat stands at the door to the passageway wanting to be let out. Let the cat out. She goes upstairs to the wife, she will get more food there.

It is now four in the afternoon, the next thing planned is to go to the artist's studio and make a second attempt to take a picture of that difficult piece. Being lazy today it would really be more pleasant to just go back to bed.

Drink a cup of coffee whilst writing these notes for today. Maybe this will serve to prevent a return to lying down and wasting time.

Sunday, 1 February 2026

Sunday, rest of the day

Today was a day of strange illness. The morning, early was fine. Then just continuous dizziness which would not go away. Measured the blood pressure, that was all right. Took the pills, and tried to make something of the day. It was strange, the mind just did not seem to work at all correctly.

A hot shower did not really help, but it was nice

It is Sunday.

Sunday is a day of rest.

See that the cat is fed. Never mind the buzzing in the head.

Lie down on the bed. Use the blue blanket to cover up and sleep the day off.

At four in the afternoon, there is a telephone call from the son, and it is good to hear that he is doing well and being very active at his university.

Start drinking coffee as it gets dark, feed the complaining cat again.

Wonder what to do with the rest of the day.
