It is good that that those scanned negatives may be digitally freed of their dust marks, fixing every spot with a brush and ink would be a curse. That took place forty five years ago during training, hours on every print, every tiniest scrap of dust. Now, it is easier, and faster. Also, in case of a reprint, you only need to do the work once.
Pay the man in the electronics department a visit, he is desoldering thick boards. That is what he is says- "dicke Platinen". And it is hard work, for the little electronic widgets will not let themselves be released from the solder, it dissipates it's heat too fast, Leave him to his work, and return to the spots on the photos. They are the memories of some professors youth, the man is sure that they are works of genius. Well, he is smart enough, but he cannot be a genius at everything,
Remember the near accident on the way to work this morning, some kid in a delivery truck being aggressive, blocking, doing things on the road that should not be done.
Finish the picture, a boring view of ships in a grecian harbour. It might be Athens, It is a filthy old negative, and if the professor would have to pay a lab for the work, he would break his bank. But it passes the time, the time created by the virus.
It is growing dark, work started as it was growing lighter this morning. That is the way of things, do not think about it too much.
