On a tarred patch on the main street of Landshut a solitary snowman. The tarred patch marks the area where there had been road works in the summer, and they had not bothered to replace the cobbles. The black tarmac contrasts with the white snow. The snowman has a scarf, and his eyes are the red caps from soft drink botttles.
He looks cheerful, for a snowman. He has a mouth covering, a sign of the time
Take a picture of the snowman, two views. There is a cake shop in the background, it has it's lights on. Perhaps it counts as an essential service. There is a woman working inside.
Wander on down the main street with the son, down to the end. The sun has sunk now, and the street is deserted. We walk back up the street, looking into all the illuminated shop windows on the way.
There is the snowman, somebody has knocked off the head.
We both restore it, but the head is misshapen now, and the one red eye has vanished in the street somewhere. There is a green bottle cap lying around, however.
Leave the re-headed snowman in the increasing cold, now with one green and one red eye.
