The accountant in her office waves, and comes over to the open door. This is a door facing out onto the street, the office used to be a shop. She is also the tenant, almost part of the family. It is the same every day, a greeting in the morning before the walk up the hill through the park. It is a regular habit.
She tells a story of fired Japanese office workers that keep up their routine every day, going into town and hanging around, even if their offices are closed. Perhaps this is true, but why tell this story to a person who is retiring from work and going for a walk?
Say the goodbyes and walk on. Later, at the top of the hill, see the rhea birds in the distance. They have probably just been feed, they have no interest in offerings of fresh leaves.
Walk on down the back path, meet the beekeeper. Have a long discussion about cameras, he is the collector of Leica cameras and lenses.
