storm

Leave the built up part of down and go down the slope into the flood canal. This is flooded twice a year, but now it is a long wide park with a small meandering river in it. There are two cycle paths the length of it,  a welcome stretch for cycling commuters and for people on very sporty bikes rushing along at high speeds. There is  a road crossing, with gates on either side, gates waiting to be closed by the authorities when the canal is flooded.

On the other side of the canal there is the main road. It follows the canal here. Off the main road there is a huge store selling electrical consumer goods. This is the objective of the walk,  a hard disc is needed to store all the work done for the exhibition, there is no point in trusting anybody else to do it.

Go into the store, it is a huge hall with enormous televisions, loud hifi, washing machines, cameras, coffee machines, computers, and electronic do-das of every description.

Find a compact hard disc that might work, and leave the store after paying an inordinate amount of money for not very much equipment.

The sky is darkening outside, and there is a downpour. Wait in front of the store watching the rain and the lightning and hearing the rain and the thunder.

It takes half an hour and then it is over.

This is time to do some office work on the 'phone.
