wake up eat shower dress and fix the flush on the toilet. This last item has started to overflow again, which happens when the stopcock does not stop the water filling the flush canister any more. The water then flows out via the overflow, and will keep on running until the mechanism is adjusted. Use a screwdriver to undo the cover of the wall flush.
After simply moving the parts and freeing them, the thing seems to work again.
Leave the house and take the car to the repair shop. Both mechanics look and listen and then both look doubtful. By the look of things, the motor will have to be dismantled, that is all very doubtful. It will be expensive, says the look on the owners face. They will have time on Wednesday to look at it.
Drive the car back, on the way stop at a car wash place and go over the cars interior with a vacuum cleaner. Then give the outside of the car a quick wash with a pressure hose.
At least it will be a bit clean
