Took out the car today for the first time in a long time. It was simply to drive to the home hardware store to buy two small platforms with rollers. They translate as furniture dogs, why the Germans call them so is unknown right now. Have a cup of coffee there and a plain pretzel.
Return home and clear the space off the balcony for the plants. Put the plant pots onto the furniture dogs and roll them along the long balcony until they reach the shelter. The balcony is now clear of plants. The plants are indoors, until the frosty season has past. The furniture dogs make the plants mobile.
The strange feeling will not let go now. Realise that the only exchange of words today has been to specify the order at the café near the hardware place. That is all. It is now four in the afternoon, and the chores are all done. The cardboard boxes from the store room have been dismantled and are now in the paper bin.
A chore for tomorrow will be to carry the biological waste to the compost bin at the end of the street.
And later this evening the lights are due to be set up at the artist's place.
