Days off work, lazy days. Listen to the noise of the workers machines outside, the whine of the coolling system on that old apple in the son's room as he attempts to make it work using linux.
The eyes have a sticky feeling around their rims, the tinnitus is hissing, focus is difficult.
But the weather outside is nice.
Clean up some of the debris left on the couch table by the television, the empty plastic container in which the yoghurt was sold, and the attendant dirty spoon.
Fill the dishwashing machine, put in a tablet of detergent, and press the button to make it work.
The cat is playing with a toy kitten, the toy makes noises like a real kitten, and the cat is always most protective towards it.
In the alley the sound of chain saws, cutting wood to length so that the trenches may be supported, and the constant hum of the mobile generator.
And the head is still sore and the eyes unfocussed.
Sleep was too long, too luxurious.
Everything needs to be paid for.
whether in cash or in kind.
Finish this now, it is not going anywhere.
the wife is still in bed, and she will stay there untill ten.
Or later.
