Wake up to a clear blue sky with fluffy clouds all over it. There are patches of snow on the ground and on all the insulated roof tiles. It is cold outside, the cold can almost be seen through the windows. Get up, marvel at the efficacy of modern drugs, bathroom and back into the warm cushy bed.
Wake up againi, one hour later, same sky with more clouds.
Listen, traffic is picking up around the town, now in the time between New Year and Epiphany. Get up, put on the coffee grinder, clear the worktop of the mess left from yesterday, empty the coffee maker fill the aluminium device, put it on the gas. Continue tidying up the stuff left carelessly lying about, packaging, containers for spices left on the table were they had been used last.

The noise from the grinder has woken up the rest of the family, both of them. Now it is late in the day, eight minutes to eleven. The day wasted in indolence. The shouting and screaming, the impatience, the accusations and the recriminations will start again soon. A daily horror.
