dismantle the coffee maker, unscrew the top half. The small biological waste bin in the kitchen is filled, so take it out to the larger bucket at the end of the balcony. Return to the kitchen, empty the container of the coffee machine into it and fill the machine with with fresh coffee.
Tighten the top half to the bottom half and put the whole ensemble onto the gas cooker.
And feed the cat, the cat that makes it's purring cat noises, the cat, the familiar.
It is the weekend, it is quiet outside.
The sound of a motor scooter passes outside the window.
The distant sound of a car.
And then a pigeon.
A jetliner overhead.
