The young woman in the cafe, Andrea, looks
up, over the glass counter, and says 'Kaffee?'
say large coffee, and pass the money over to her
Then realise that the discount card is full, all
ten spaces for stamping have been stamped.
So to avoid complications, she hands over a
new discount card. On the way to the table in
the waiting room, stop at the small counter to
pick up a lid for the cardboard mug of hot coffee.
The tension in the stack of lids gives away, and with a jerk, the top one is freed.
The sudden movement causes the coffee to
spill, just a bit, onto the floor. Cover the
coffee remaining in the plastic cup with the lid, and turn to tell the man behind the
counter that there has been a spillage.
He is out quickly to wipe the mess up, he uscs
paper towels. He says that it does not
matter. The big young man in a tight
yellow T-shirt.
Sit down at the table, sip the remainder of
the coffee. start to write notes again. Realise
that it is hard to express all the facets of
annoyance that this small spillage has
caused. and it is hard to describe the
details.
