The cat, attentive. comes into the bedroom, pushes it's head against bare legs hanging over the edge of the bed. Then she walks on and nuzzles the furniture. Then she returns, and nuzzles the meanwhile covered leg  again.

All the time purring. Then she reaches up and puts her two forepaws on the top of the thigh her claws finding purchase in the black cloth. It is good that the denim cloth is heavy, or the treatment would be most painful.
Go out to the small cabinet in the hall, there is the plastic jar with antibiotic cream for the nose. Spread a pea-sized lump of this

over the nose, a thin film to fight the bacteria that keep on recurring, causing rosaceae. The

cream helps the trouble down.

Leave the house, the weather is warm. It is not light yet, the alley is a sinister place, lit by lantern shaped electric lamps. The place has an atmosphere of quaintness as a result, the sort of thing that tourists like.

But there is almost nobody there,

Two people hurrying somewhere, otherwise just wide open dimly lit spaces.

But st the bus stop there is birdsong.
