voice

up earlier than that alarm, get up and turn it off, tap the spot on the glass of the tablet.
go to the bathroom, take a hurried shower.
remove the silicon thing on the finger, a thing to compress the little finger just a bit to prevent fluid filling the space under the skin where the surgery had taken place. Now the water is hot, soap, relax.
the day is starting.

The cat is waiting outside the bathroom door, all impatient. She wants to be fed.

The tin of catfood, the coffee maker.
All part of an early morning now.

On leaving the house a very old woman with a stick is standing there. She is frail, and her walk progresses slowly. Wish her a good morning, she looks astonished, and wishes a good morning in return. She has a low voice, careful and cultured in speech, clear as a bell.
Her voice is younger than she is.
Smile.
Hurry on to the car, waiting in the parking spot.
