Autonomous

 it is just ahead of midnight on a Sunday. There had been work all day trying to understand the software and the connections for the couputers. They were all installed by the son, he knew what he was doing but he was unable to impart any of this knowledge to his father. Such a shame.

Finally he left to go on his studies in Bayreuth. Hopefully he had a safe journey. There was a pleasant half an hour in the café before leaving.

As soon as he was gone. nothing worked the way it should-

Went to the pub and spent time doing three dimensional puzzles.

Finally left, and upon returning established that the computer was busily installing updates. 

This is a thing that windows does autonomously.
