Getting up, no problem. Going downstairs, no problem, it is always this way. Taking a shower is pleasant, use a yellow towel today. Realise that the wife had probably put that out for herself, but never mind. There are more.
Go upstairs, make the bed and take the pills as per doctor's orders. Leave the tray with the pills on the bed, as a sort of knot in the handkerchief to serve as a reminder that the pills had been taken.
Then downstairs all the way to the shop space. Make a breakfast with the two last eggs and the last of the coffee. Enjoy this, read the news, the bleak things happening in those united states in America, and the disasters elsewhere in the world. Solve the Wordle puzzle in three with a bit of luck.
And then fall asleep sitting at the computer, stagger of to the low bed in the studio. Fall asleep.
Wake at eleven.
What a collapse. Why could the necessary sleep not have come in the earliest morning, instead lay around in bed not sleeping?
Leave the house, annoyed. Go to the bank, withdraw some cash. This is important enough. Then walk through the streets to the park. Climb the steep path all the way up to the small zoo with its duck ponds and Rhea birds, its goats and peacocks. On the way pass the monument to the fallen in the two world wars in the last century, This was from the vocational secondary school in Landshut only. Seventy eight in the first war and third four in the second.
Then walk down past the castle, down the steep steps. Pass a magnificently fat man there, he is limping down the steep paved path, talking all the while on his 'phone, wearing a gaudy print shirt and slippers in silver lamé.
Had an ice cream in a cup and went home.
The legs felt funny after that walk, but so what.
Then spent time arranging things at home. There is now a message on the phone advising that the guests want to see the gallery at eight.
