At a quarter past six in the morning, the cat starts to complain.
The small animal has got used to being fed early in the morning. Go to the fridge, and see that somebody has put a nearly empty tin back into the fridge.
There is a tiny amount of cat food there, put that onto her catship's plate. She makes a disappointed look. Then reach for the new tin up on the counter, and the cat makes a great display of pleasure in anticipation.
Leave her feeding on the mass of brown fodder on the plate.

Take the silver sieve from the little espresso machine, empty the grounds into the waste container reserved for biological waste,
Fill the little sieve with fresh coffee from the machine.
Get a cup from the cupboard in the hallway, white, made by Yves Deshoulieres in France, in Limoges. Put it under the machine.
Press the switch.
Let the fresh brown brew trickle into the white cup.

Take the cup to the computer on the small secretary in the corner of the bedroom. The computer is a laptop that can only be operated from the mains current.
It's battery died suddenly in France.
