Let it feed

The aircraft are flying in to Munich over Landshut again, the first one passing overhead shortly before five. nLie in bed, listen to the distant whine of the jet engines.
Check the watch for the time, the luminous hands say that it is just five, there is another  aircraft to be heard. People are returning from their holidays, school will begin next Tuesday.
Get up, take off the night clothes, put them on the bed
The cat appears from somewhere and rubs the bony head on the bare legs.
Pat the bony skull of the cat, make it purr.

Go to the bathroom, shower away feeling o the fetid night and sleep still stuck to the skin.
Return to the bedroom, the cat is still there. Ignore it's fawnings, get dressed.

Then to the kitchen, put a dollop of food onto the plate for the cat.
Let it feed.
And put the remainder of the freshly opened tin into the refrigerator.
Pick up the bag, the 'phone, the wallet. Put on the jacket.

The cat is standing at the door to the flat, and it is out like a flash as soon as the door is opened.
Go down the stairs, pass the cat on the way.
Leave the house, go to the car.
The railway people will have finished their work on Friday, then it will be possible to take the train again.
next Monday.

But for now, the long journey needs to be done by car.
carefully.
