Then wash the small cheap razor, and scratch it across the face, removing all the hairs there, the hairs that were a sort of stubble. Draw it over the face again, it is smoother now, let it remove the lightest stubble that was left standing after the first onslaught.

Repeat.

And repeat again.

Then wash the remains of the foam out of the face.

Hear the wife outside the door, so leave.

She needs the bathroom too, there is only one.

And later, take a shower and get dressed.

The living room is big and quiet.

The cat is in the window.

The town is absolutely dead silent.
