The car is parked under the tree as usual, that small tree left standing when they made the temporary pebble parking place. Reverse the tiny car into the space, turn off the lights and turn off the engine, pick up the bag and leave the car in the space where it will remain all day.
There is a mask to be worn today, to keep the virus at bay.
There will be no work, because there are no congresses, and no lectures.
Check the equipment, clean the equipment.
That is what will be done.
There is the pendulum, in the stairwell, proving that the earth is round and that it rotates. Still swinging like a magnetic clock.
On the way up the stairs trip, and slip.
That is the way accidents happen, causal-like.

The people tearing up the roof on the small building that is due to be knocked down have started work. They are making noise, and they have no one to disturb.
