maybe tomorrow

This is worth getting up earlier for, the peace and quiet of the morning, a quiet solitary breakfast, just a slice or two of bread and cheese. There is no sound but the ticking of the clocks, the town outside has become quite quiet due to the imposed restrictions. The virus has forced an end to the uninhibited travel and movement, an end to all congregations, and has left the town in lear air and silence.
A short walk to the supermarket is planned for later on, there will be time for a walk in the park.

The silence and the ticking of the clocks, the hiss of the coffee machine. There are three clocks running now, a small  french ATO mantel clock, it is ticking but the silly thing can not keep time.

There is a neighbour to be heard out on the street, she is discussing something, just the voice comes over, no content. A single car passes. That is it.

The sun is still low in the sky, but the sky is clear and blue. It has not rained for weeks now, and there are no contrails any more, air traffic has been reduced to a tiny minimum. Look at the mess in the living room, that will be a thing to clear up later on.
Or maybe tomorrow.
