out of bed in the morning, take a shower and

look at the mess in and the dirt in the bedroom.
Get dressed
Coffee
and a slice of bread.


Start in the corner, sweep
Push the bed over.
Find a pair of shoes, forgotten some time ago
They are dust encrusted brown suede now.
Brush the dust off.
Clear the dust from under the bed, first sweeping and then with a vacuum cleaner.
Then pull the bed over the other way.
That is the wifes side, there are shoe and things so deeply caked in dust, look with disgust.
Pair the shoes.
Give the dustier ones a wipe.
There are two single shoes, all alone.
Sweep.
Vacuum.
Put the bed back

Then get a bucket of water with some detergent
start to wipe all the things, the lamp, the clock and the bottles.
The water goes black.

And when all that is done
it is three in the afternoon.
