Put on the mask upon leaving the car, and
take the muddy short cut across the embankment.
A man approaches, he gives a cheerful' good
morning'. He is the man in charge of the technical gas.
He does not wear a mask. So many people do
not, it is uncomfortable, it is impractical. So
they do not. After all, wearing a mask will only make a statistical improvement to the viral
contagion in society, the chances of
an individual being affected remain not seriously changed. So they say, so they think and so they do. Like all safety precautions, they remain untaken if they are not enforced.
Inside the building, an older man without a mask keeps a great distance,
he has a guilty expression.
A younger man approaches, not
minding his distance. He does not care.
