Follow a respectable couple walking up the path out of the valley in which the town is. Take a picture of the situation, and wonder at the elderly couples taking the air on this Wednesday morning. There are more of them than there usually are, slowly walking, deep in conversation. They wish all that they meet a good morning. Many are holding hands.
Walk on to the top of the hill, settle there and think. Rest until the couple has nearly caught up, and then go on to the enclosures where the Rhea birds are kept. Watch one of these big flightless Nandus jump underneat a tree to reach the lower maple leaves. It looks strange, the bird makes a vertical jump, stretching out its long neck to reach the leaves. All of the low hanging branches have been nibbled free of leaves by the birds.
Walk back down again, that is the day's exercise taken care of. It will be necessary to do more. Weight reduction would be a good idea.
