Wake up earlier than the alarm, and take a shower. Then make breakfast for one.
At seven the alarm goes off.
Gather up the things needed for the walk, forget to pack a bottle of water
Climb up the keyboard stairs leading to the castle. And then walk over the usual way over the hill called Moniberg and then the long climb up to the car park of the nature reserve.
Get lost here, there are no signposts indicating the path at all. A charming old lady in a farmyard gives directions
Walking along the road towards Schlossberg realise that there is something missing.
It is the tinnitus. It is one of it's rare remissions. It is good that there are no other people around to look at the man walking and smiling like a fool. The absence of something can be fantastic.
Find the path and follow it all over the hills until it ends in the village that also hosts the atomic reactor. It is a strange place, there is not a single guest house open. Ask a woman if she could perhaps explain where to get a glass of water in this place. She says that probably everywhere is closed, and goes into her house and comes out with a half litre glass of tap water. That was very kind, it solves the thirst problem.
The walk returning home is longer than expected, the feet are sore.
Arrive home in the dark, it is seven, and this has been a ten hour walk. The pedometer in the phone estimates the distance at forty kilometres.
