In the morning, after breakfast, fill the dishwasher with the dirty dishes and start it. Solve a wiring problem with the wiring for the router whilst the machine worked away, then emptied it. There appeared to be water coming out from underneath it, this was unusual. Pull the machine out of its recess, and see that the drainage hose is damaged, probably during the night's activities. Turn the machine upside down and remove the base. Disconnect the hose.
Spend the next three hours establishing that this is definitely not a standard hose attachment. Every hardware store in town has hoses, but none of them fit. End up way outside town at an electrical supply discount store and end up buying a hose connector as a kind of repair. When back home, spend a short while installing the pipe again, fixed as a temporary measure, and then replace the machine,
All of this because the wife rescued a bat from the cat.
