Awake to the cold of the early morning, the badly insulated room is icy and the electric heater makes no great difference. All of this is not going to work well, it is not even clear whether or not this winter can be spent up here. Get up to go downstairs and to make the usual breakfast. The cold is not so bad after the food, but the feeling of well-being does not last. Go downstairs and enjoy a shower, this warms up the old body, it feels good.
Upstairs again get dressed, and go out and walk down to the shop in the mall to buy things that are in short supply. It is no more than eggs and bread and cheese.
Upon returning home after walking through the cold streets with all the wrapped up people find that a small parcel has been delivered. Open it and find that it is filled with homemade cookies, this is a Christmas present from the niece. She has written a small card and says thank you for the nice photo's of her wedding last September. Now that is very kind isn't it?
The wife comes up the stairs with a large parcel containing a photographic lampshade, a so-called soft box. The wife is in her usual non speaking mode, she grunts in reply to the offered verbal thanks.Take the item upstairs and leave it on the couch.
Go out and go to the meeting in the cafe
That is boring today.
There is an invitation to a christmas dinner.
That is pleasant.
