Things to think about.

At seven in the morning there is the sound of the alarm. Get up and silence it, then go to the bathroom, everything is fine. It is still dark outside. Put on the coffee maker and then return to the bedroom. Get dressed, finish just in time to turn off the coffee maker. Arrange everything for the online meeting later, and sit down with the news, a few slices of toast and the fresh hot coffee.

Keep on working out the things that need to be done for the online meeting with the lawyer. It is a slightly different system than the online systems that had been in use at the university during covid, but not so very much different.

At eight forty five start to set things up, and punctually at nine the system seems to start working. After a few seconds of insecurity it is established that we can both see and hear each other.

Ask questions and receive long winded answers. But it appears as if things are not as bad as one might have thought. But then the lawyer has to maintain some kind of positive attitude. She talks quite a lot, but her speech remains clear. The whole conversation remains civilised and clear, it is done in forty minutes.

Think about it all for a while.

Then pick up the wood carving tool the handle of which was modified the day before and walk on over to the artist's studio. The author and his wife are there, they are packing up the folding chairs that had been in use during the event on last Friday. Help them carry the chairs to their car, and then set about regrinding the tool. The adjustment of the grinder is slightly complicated, but not really difficult. After half an hour the job is done, and the chisel is reassembled and serviceable. It is now extremely sharp.

Chat with the pub owner for a while, then accompany him as he walks his dog.

About town, have a snack and at another place enjoy a cup of coffee. Then return home, finish tidying and lie down. Getting up early has taken its toll.

Later in the day see single yellow waste bags outside the house on the opposite side of the road. Tomorrow must be the yellow bag collection day. Take the bag hanging in the kitchen, go upstairs to the kitchen there and take that yellow bag, and go out towards the yard and take the three yellow bags stored there. Bring all of these flimsy bags out to the collection point in the street and leave them there.

That is that chore done.

Finish writing these notes. Now the cat is calling from the passageway. Let her in. She will be fed later
