The cat calls, a mee-ow every few seconds.
She wants to leave the room. get up out of
bed and over to the door in the dark, depress
the handle, and let the cat out into the cold
corridor. There is a rattle from the cat door
to the balcony, close the bedroom door again,
the cat will be back later. Look at the time on the tablet, see that there are five minutes to go.
Sit down, read.

hookah club, first one, then another, then
death at home. This is unusual in Germany,
perhaps it will be possible to learn more
later. Maybe there is a hookah mafia, or
something. Or else there was more than tobacco
in the pipe.
The alarm sounds from the tablet, press
that is small, underneath the touchscreen
button that says "snooze".
Go to the bathroom, the cat uses the oppurrtunity to come back in. Take a piss, then, after the
water has run hot, take a shower. And after
that, back into the bedroom to be greeted by
a cat that seems agitated, but is probably
just hungry.
