time

Turn into the parking spot, away from the tree, close to the wooden bar that makes up the boundary of the pebble parking area. It is barely turning light, the fog is thick, and it is Monday. The building workers have not started yet , but the pendulum in the hallway with the stairway around it is swaying steadily, as it has been all weekend. A day with nothing particular planned, apart from an appointment to make for tomorrow. Go to the loo in the corridor, then climb the stairs.

Halfway up, remember that checking in has been forgotten. A memory of forgetfulness. Down the stairs again, and hold the chip under the scanner, a beep sounds. thirty hours. There is almost enough time on the chip now to be able to take the time off between Christmas and Epiphany, that will be almost the last time to take time off.

Climb the stairs again, and cross over to the other building using the bridge between the two.

The office is the same as it had been left last week, the computer failed to update on it's own. So what, there is plenty of time to waste anyway anyhow someway

to Hell with it  work is a drag, the last seven years a purgatory in limbo, the supervisors just waiting until the uncomfortable employee leaves.

Their problem, but it is painful

Make a cup of coffee using the small machine that the son had given his father for christmas.

Start to retouch pictures, that is one way to kill time.

It is already dark outside, the pictures are finished. Conversation today was had with one person, not counting the email busines. One conversation face to face, mask to mask.At least, healthy, non contagious.
