whirly

Hello! to the neighbour and her young daughter. They are out on the street, both wearing masks, loading bags of leaves into their car. The mother gives a bright greeting, and the daughter mumbles something into her mask.

Turn left at the junction, and then after a few metres cross the road. The shop there is having it's front redecorated, there are spots on the wall where the fixtures for the previous owner had been. These will probably be painted over by next week.

There is a tiny alley to the right, hear the sound of voices, people approaching.

A loud exclamamation

"Ow whirly"

Uncomprehending, glance into the alley.  A couple approaching, a woman to the left of the man looking at him in contemptously. Sinister. He puts on his mask, they are just entering the area of town where masks are mandatory.

They converse further, as the woman dons a mask too. Realise that they are Americans, with a particularly strong accent.

The man had probably informed the woman that she would need to wear a mask after the signpost with the signpost showing the picture of a person wearing a mask.

really

Carry on, bring the washing to the company in the basement of the shopping centre.
