The weather is grey and cool now and that is a relief. Sleep is deep and long, this is unusual. The neighbours are having one of their discussions outside, talking in loud voices as if they were alone in the world. Perhaps they think that they are.
There are fresh clothes in the drawers of the chest of drawers, put on a fresh set of clothes for this Friday. There is a knock on the door, the son is there to ask whether or not we can go to the café as had been promised yesterday evening.
Read the news and write these notes. The German news is full of energy shortages and drought, and the American news reports on much the same. There is scant news from Ukraine, but it now looks as if Russia has made a mistake.
