This morning, forget to put salt into the water for the poached eggs. Forget to put in a shot of vinegar as well. It is interesting, the vinegar thrown in on top of the eggs causes an effervescence, a white foam rearing up like a soufflé. The salt on top of this never seems to get through to the water below. But never mind about all this, put a little salt on the side of the plate in case the eggs have less salt than they would need to taste well.
The coffee and the toast let themselves be made without problems.
Breakfast upstairs, read the news, enjoy the bright clear day.
The news is dim, there are threats of escalation in the war with Russia. The situation now is not peace, and there is no limbo between war and peace.
