get on with it

There were many things done last night, not all of them good. Due to four hands working at one thing, a part of the sculpture broke. It will need to be remade this evening. It is a setback for the artist.

This mornings early awakening was kept under control. The impulse to get up and to start making breakfast was held back. Stayed in bed until dawn was well and truly past.

The day outside is rainy and cold, just as the weather forecast had predicted. Stay indoors, look at the tax documents and read a bit. Stay away from playing the Risk- like game on the computer, that wastes too much time.

Work out a method to repair the damage to the sculpture. This can be suggested to the artist later.

A parcel arrived containing a new kitchen knife from China. The knife is incredibly sharp. Test it on a couple of potatoes, slicing them easily and quickly. Put some oil into a pan and fry them, a sort of a quick snack. They are tasty. The knife will prove useful for other things by the bye. The old kitchen knife is cheap and blunt. Perhaps there will be a method to sharpen it soon.

It is very easy to become distracted whilst doing things like tax returns.

It is now twenty to five, and the son has left for Bayreuth to get on with his studies.
