Morning was bad, with the cat complaining and the cold gnawing. Get up early ones, for the bathroom on the one hand and to mollify the cat on the other. Leave the cat happily slurping its food, purring as it eats. Childhood etiquette mandated not to talk with the mouth full, that does not apply to purring and cats.
The mollification factor was short-lived. The cat started again. Made a breakfast as always, but it was not enough to counter the tiredness. The depressive effect of not having anybody to talk to and no reflection for the thoughts only made thing worse.
Later take a break and read things on the computer. The news of the aggressive president with his childish announcements is depressing. His incompetence in international affairs when compared to his predecessors is very visible, even to those who know little about diplomacy.
Pack the equipment in order to bring it to the studio. Discover that the entire street has been filled with parking cars, all of them guests of the spring fair in the town.
The constant feeling of being cold will not go away. Sometimes the overheated artists studio is a relief. Take a walk around town, do not go to the studio. It is a place of work and not a home for older bones.
Buy a Kebab at one of the fast food stores in town. It is not especially good, but it is filling. Eat it down by the river, on a bench in the sun. Afterwards have a cup of coffee in a café.
Back at home, a famished sounding greeting from the fat feline. Give her a small amount of food from the now-empty small tin.
Lie down for a short while.
Now it is time to get up and to write these notes. There is no knowing what tomorrow may bring.
The sensation that the walls are closing in is replaced by the sense that the sky is coming down.
