Watch an older woman at Yorma`s cafe fumbling bakery products, pretzels and cakes, from the dispenser, using the provided metal tongs. It is claimed that it is due to hygienic reasoning that these tongs are provided and their use encouraged. But surely a customer may touch the food items that he or she is going to consume? Still, all the customers fumble with these silver tongs, pulling their rolls , and pretzels, and cakes into the provided paper bags. All lifting the clear acrylic dispenser lid with the left hand and operating the shiny silver tongs with the right. It takes time.
The woman drops her money, she fails to close the lid properly, and the pretzels in the display fall out onto the floor.
The next person uses his fingers to take what he wants and to put it into one of the cellophane-fronted paper bags.
The coffee was served today by the bald headed bearded man. He has plaited his beard, and he is friendly. The coffee itself is much the same as every day, the taste of cardboard cup included.
Hedgehog Norbert at his usual place in the cafe, friendly, drinking his coffee and reading his paper.
The train left punctually, to travel through the bright post dawn landscape.
It is the beginning of the last day of the week.
