Awake twice

Awake, silence the alarm sounds coming from the tablet The back hurts, test for a second more.

Awake from a strange dream, and look about. Look at the watch. It is twenty past five, and things are late now. Go to the shower, go to  the bathroom, hurry. A short wash and back, hurry, search for a shirt. It is late, gather the usual utensils, the wallet, the keys, the mobile phone and the pen.

Walk through town, ten minutes later than usual. The stumpy man is there, in the park by the bus stop, feeding the pigeons. There must be a hundred of the birds there.
