It nuzzles at the furniture, stroke the fur on it's head, scratch it behind the ears.

Bathroom, wash the teeth. Try to take the tightness out of the face using cold water.
Take the computer to the living room table.
The son is asleep on the couch.
He has been there a number of times in the past days. Perhaps he prefers it to his own bed.

Now the son wakes up and says good morning.
And the noise in the street has started. A group of weekend building workers have started work on the house down the road. Cars pass, there is the sound of drills and hammers.
