taken for granted up to now

It is dark, it is only seven in the morning. Press the button on the key and the car lights up. The small black Smart car. There is wet condensation all over it, giving it a pearly matt look.

Get in, turn on the radio, the weather report is just on. This is winter in southern Germany, and the temperatures are warm. Seventeen degrees Centigrade are predicted during the day, five degrees now. It is like a late summer, it is all wrong. The announcer on the radio expresses her astonishment, she says that is much too warm.
Normally there is deep frost at night during these months. Instead, it will be a warm spring day.

Later on, leave the Autobahn, use the curved ramp, and from the height of the bridge look out over the countryseide, there are the spires and towers of Munich, there is the weather forecast tower associated with the research atomic reactor, all lit in blue.

There are the  alps, looming over the scene in the distance, under an orange and yellow and red dawn sky. A spectacular view today, with the clear air and the warm wind coming in from the south.

The drama is threatening, hear that John Williams music for Star Wars has similar structures to Wagner operas.
The sky is spectacular, but something is wrong, it is actually threatening a major change in the weather that has been taken for granted up to now.
