Sunday morning and the only sound is the horns of the emergency vehicles as a sign that somebody's day has started off badly. The horns blare on for a long time, there is the impression that some of the drivers like the sound of their horns, as if making a noise and light show enhances their importance.
Then the sound of the horns quietens into the distance and the birdsong is back again.
It is late today, the wife has returned from her visit to her parent's house, the cat is greedy and the tinnitus is hissing loudly on the right. The tinnitus is probably there all the time, it is just that at some times it is not to be ignored.
It is eight thirty in the morning and the tinnitus has been joined by a high whistle in the left temple.
It is a lovely day and it is starting off badly.
