The first day of this month is a Wednesday, a thing realised last night whilst attempting to buy a railway ticket. There is an offer for a reduced railway ticket, and yesterday it was not in force yet. This was just too bad. But it did not matter anyway. The walk from Landshut to Dingolfing was pleasant, then tiring, and finally the legs hurt.
The reservoir at Dingolfing has large marshy areas at its upstream end, these are a haven for ducks. There are mallard families everywhere, always one female mallard surrounded by her chicks. The male mallards are hanging about in small groups in the marshes. In the evening light it is all very pretty, even though the mashes are a bit smelly. The dike around the reservoir leads almost to the centre of the town, a town that appears to be nothing but a mass of large consumer temples selling kitchen appliances and building supplies, and discount food stores. All of these business have large parking lots attached.
This morning the cat is active, she is begging. The legs still hurt a bit from yesterday, but this will go away in time. There are things to do today, forms to fill and bills to pay. And finally, there are pictures of trains to be finished and put online.
There are things to do every day, not just enjoying the Bavarian countryside.
