waste time

Yesterday was spent trying to repair a chair. Trying to redo a rattan weave, and it is just not as easy as might be thought. The theory is simple enough, but to train the fingers to develop a feeling for the materials, the tensions involved and to have the patience to deal with one row after the next is not really easy at all.

Today is a day for a walk, a long walk on thisTuesday. There is no sense in hanging about at home and watching the tension's increase all day, there is no sense in starting to clean up the mess when all that will happen is that it is created anew. A walk in the country may clear the mind, it may lead to new ideas.

The luxury of living as a pensioner was earned over many years, and there are few enough years to enjoy it in. If a person wants to sit on top of a mountain and watch the sun rise and stay there and to watch it set that is the person's business. Remarks about the lack of productivity in such behaviour are inappropriate.
