 What is to be done with the started day? There must be thousands and thousands of old age pensioners who ask themselves this question, with the strain of having to make a living by going to work gone. This constraint on freedom has now been replaced by the increased difficulty of having to make ends meet. Remember the pleasures of walking, without let or hindrance, but for the sore feet produced by a pair of expensive and nonetheless ill-fitting shoes.

And now take a break from this to read the New York Times, such a well-written paper. The thought occurs whether or not to subscribe, it is a pleasure to read. There is the Guardian too, but it is not the same. And there are all the sensationalist papers, spreading distrust with their stupid capitalisations compensating for the inability to express ideas using the written word.

It is a placid day, that is going to turn hotter than it should be, things are hotter and drier than they ever were in the past, and all of this just due to the success of human endeavour. Evolution may win the struggle by removing humankind and allowing whatever can thrive on the ruins to succeed.
