there is noise wherever you go

Monday morning brings noises from the street, the tradesmen repairing the house opposite are shouting at each other, shouting is the way they talk. They are not actually being unfriendly or anything. It is just a habit, a way to get attention, a way to deal with loud ambient noises. The owner of the shop below has a loud laugh, a laugh that can be heard through the building's walls. Cars and vans rumble up and down the one-way alley outside, delivering things and people to the pedestrian zone in the middle of town. And the police leave their station with loud sirens on their emergency business, whatever that may be.

It is noticeably louder in town on warm days with the windows open. The clamour of the church bells has receded into the middle of the noise spectrum by comparison.

This morning the mess in the living room, and everywhere in the house is especially distressing.

In a fit of depression slam the bedroom door, eliciting screamed shouts from the therein reposing wife.

It just goes to show that there is noise wherever you go.
