stiff legs

There are messages from all over the body indicating that yesterdays strenuous climb to the top of the highest local mountain was a load on the whole system, even the back hurts from the rucksack. It was a total of twenty-two kilometres of walking, most of it on the remains of paths that had been washed out during the past winters. These paths consisted mainly of rubble and stones, and were difficult. The difference in altitude was nearly seven hundred metres.

But there is no harm done, and it was interesting.  And today, the old legs are stiff. Remember that the man met on the trail was five years older, and he was fitter in most ways.

The sun is already baking Landshut this morning, it is only up for a few hours and the air is hot already. The sounds from the street are louder through all the open windows, and people are outside talking and chatting.

Today is to be a day of strange events, there is to be a conference on video to decide the exact future of an exhibition of photographs in Landshut showing aspects of the last twenty years working for the scientists in Garching. It will also be decided whether or not a new lens for the cameras is to be bought.
