Vils is old German for Fluss, which means river

Jazz concert last night, a local pub turning cultural centre. The concert was well worth listening to,  a trio playing drums, bass viol and bass saxophone. The musicians were illuminated using multicoloured LED spotlights, which rendered taking pictures difficult. But the conversation with the bass player was great during his break. He spoke about his songs and why he had left the copyright agency.

The planned journey to Vilshofen went wrong today, even though it eventually succeeded. There are at least two rivers in Germany called the Vils and therefore there are two towns called Vilshofen. The navigation software selected the wrong one and therefore gave the wrong directions. Paris Texas instead of Paris France.

This was resolved in a few hour's pointless driving along motorways in the rain. A pleasant time was spent at the collecters house near Passau, in that Vilshofen at that end of the world

To make matters spicier still, the cars key fell apart.

And during the day, it became clear that winter time had ended so that a full hour appeared to have been lost. This means that getting up will be more difficult tomorrow.
