as vain as a musician

John's gig yesterday, yes, the one that should have been done by eleven but was not. The performance in the small Irish pub in the small village thirty kilometres outside Landshut started badly and ended nicely. By the time that the show had ended the staff of the establishment had unpacked their instruments and were playing as well. And they all played together nicely.

It was three in the morning when the lights at home were turned out, it was three this morning. The two musicians were left back home with their instruments and then a parking spot had to be found.

Awakening was later, for reasons as described above.

Work on fixing up the pictures taken during the night. As always, there will be injured vanities and many disappointing results. By the time the pictures can be printed it is the middle of the afternoon.

The neighbours children are noisy, and their grandfather is using his loud entertainer mode voice.

But the birds are all singing and cooing, and in the distance there is the sound of the calls of the peacocks. Perhaps the bird is as vain as a musician.
