The private flat was left behind in reasonable condition, no comment on the loose toilet seat or the curtains that fell off the walls. There was no comment either on the dirty rug in front of the unused sofa.
Leave the flat and drive to Arca Swiss in Ecole Valentin, a suburb of the town. The friendliness in that firm is incredible, even as a poor customer there was a greeting with a cup of coffee. The broken part of the instrument was repaired, and the bill paid.
Then the long journey from Besançon to Trôo was started , Steadily motoring at one hundred and thirty kilometres an hour. Near Orleans a collapse and nearly falling asleep at the wheel necessitated an hours break and a short snooze in one of those French Aires. The weather was warm and pleasant.
In Trôo there was a great welcome and a long conversation and then to bed and a deep sleeep
