My sincere good wishes to everybody attending the event, to those listening from afar, and share my sorrow for those no longer with us.

The early morning return from Frankonia has left its mark on the day, there is also the curious sense of absence now that the son has left the house on his studies. The cat is behaving strangely, perhaps the animal has an understanding of the change too.

A day spent trying to find loose ends that can be tied among all of those loose ends that are beyond fixing. The interior fittings removed yesterday to accommodate the things taken by the son are replaced in the early afternoon and the clothes are replaced in the drawers of the Swedish storage units under the bed.

Spend a few minutes replying to a request for attendance to a school reunion that will not be attended to. Send a few words, they want to read them out.

Fifty years ago they were left behind in a flurry of insanity and loneliness. Now they have pleasant words, a large group of old people celebrating their youth now lost.

"My sincere good wishes to everybody attending the event, to those listening from afar, and share my sorrow for those no longer with us."
