organise

This morning awoke to a call of nature. Looked at the watch and it was seven in the morning, checked with the 'phone and saw that it was really so. Stayed downstairs and made breakfast.
Upstairs again, after enjoying the breakfast made a phone call to the traffic people to inquire as to whether it would be possible to have the parking permit renewed. A friendly voice told me that this would not be a problem, if the expired permit was available.
Take a walk to the car, parked at the other end of the town. Retrieve the old permit from the plastic holder behind the windscreen, and walk on down to the office of the traffic people. Make a telephone call from the street outside the door and wait. In a short while a woman arrives with the new permit and some paperwork. Give her the old permit and the money. She checks the details and hands over the permit and the paperwork.
Return to the car and fit the new permit into the plastic holder. It will stay there for another year.

Go to the bank to get some cash. And then walk down to the bakery and have a sandwich and a cup of coffee. Upon returning home find a demand in the post to register the son and the wife for health insurance. There is an inquiry to be made from the wife as to whether she has additional insurance or not. She does not. She barks that the door is to be shut upon leaving what she now calls her room. It is warm there, but the atmosphere is chilly

In the early afternoon after a restive half an hour take the car to a place that has a vacuum cleaner service and clean the remains of the various moves from the back of the car. All the little beads of styrofoam get sucked out of the carpet and end up in the vacuum cleaners maw.
Set up the rear seats again, now all is in order.
Return the car to the parking spot opposite to the police station.

The parts of the car that had to be removed to turn it into  a goods vehicle are recovered from the artists studio and are installed into the car again. Now it is a respectable hatchback type station wagon again.
That is good.
And now, back home again, decide to take another rest.
The two Argentine men were met on the street.
Wish them a happy new year.
The young man never stops talking.
The old man is quiet, he seems tired.
